Revisions

Revisions either exclude or include photographic information. The examples below represent the types of manipulations that can be done and show a wide range of complexity.

Exclusion: Isolation

Sometimes it is desirable to completely remove a background to focus on the main component of the picture. Note the effect on the two series below:

Exclusion: Historic Building

The first photo shows the Customs House followed by efforts to remove "distracting elements" from the photo in various stages, changing the character of the photo a little or alot.

Exclusion: Family Celebration

The first photo includes the complete family, the second removes the husbands, leaving only those in the direct family line.

Exclusion: Beach Clutter

The focus here is the three sisters at the beach- not other family members and strangers in the background. Plus the photo benefits from "tightening" the sisters together.

Inclusion: 1809 College Chemistry Laboratory

An old photo of a laboratory was manipulated by overlaying the faces of the current faculty to show students that indeed their professors had been around a long time!
